I have too much stuff...

I just don't know how this place is going to be packed up by saturday. We don't leave until monday, but we're moving all the stuff to my dad's and the storage unit on saturday. Joy. I'm less concerned about what I'm taking at this point and more concerned with how I'm going to pack all of my crap that I'm leaving behind. Especially the clothes...I'm doing my best to give things away or at least let friends borrow things until I get back. It's not even making a dent! Every time I think I'm making some headway, the pile just seems to grow. Sigh.
Just a quick baby update...she/he's a kidney bean this week. We had our first baby appointment this morning and have our first ultrasound tomorrow morning. They took a ton of blood from me today and I feel really wiped out, as if I didn't already!
And the best news this week...Heather and I are going to Doylestown tomorrow, yay! Domani Star, here we come. I can't wait to chow down on some pasta.

12 days...

That's all that's left. I can't believe it. The shipment is packed, the apartment is not. But all of that pales in comparison to the news. The news! We're going to have a baby!!! We actually found out when we were in Kauai but I wanted to tell all of my people before I put it on the internet. I am exactly 7 weeks along. The baby is a blueberry! We are thrilled, a little surprised, but totally thrilled. So, I'll be giving birth in Egypt. Just another crazy thing to add to the list. I have been told that I have to post belly pictures on here, which I will but under no circumstances will this turn into an obnoxious "baby blog". If I give birth and lose my mind and turn into a mom that feels the need to talk about every diaper change I promise to do it on another blog...

We went to NYC this weekend to hang out with Ira's peeps. It was fun, we stayed in Brooklyn but spent some time in Manhattan seeing a show ("Passing Strange", best show ever!) and having some good meals. And Magnolia cupcakes, of course.

So, Lauren and I are having what will probably be the last sleepover tonight. I'm trying not to cry, trying to keep it together for her and to be honest, for the baby. I don't think it's good for blueberry for mom to be sad all the time. We're going to watch Gilmore Girls and just hang out like the old days. I'm going to visit Kelly in D.C. tomorrow, not to say good bye, just to shop. Kelly will be up here for her birthday next week so I get to put that off until then. Ira is in Minnesota visiting his sister. It's kind of weird that this week will probably be the last time that I'll be by myself for a long time. So the dishes are in the sink and the jammies are on all day! haha Sorry, Ira.

The Honeymooners

Well, I've been MIA because we just went on our much belated honeymoon! A week in Kauai, what could be better. Two weeks in Kauai!!! haha It was simply heaven. We hiked, kayaked, snorkeled, swam, ate, shopped, walked, played cards like dorks and just had a great time. The island is fabulous, I insist that everyone start saving their pennies and go there right away. Unless, you're saving your pennies to come visit me in Egypt and in that case you should ignore what I just said. You know who you are! Now it's back to reality...we leave in less than a month and time is a tickin. We have to have an inventory of everything we're shipping and it has to be ready by Monday. Yikes! When I pack to move I'm a real throw-it-in-a-box-and-figure-it-out-later kind of girl, so this is going to be interesting. My mom is having a going away party for us on Saturday so that will be fun I'm sure. I know this time is going to FLY. It already is...
